famous when dead

Famous When Dead, otherwise known as Andrew Turner, was born in 1980 and raised in the industrial pottery town of Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire.

Adopting the alias of Famous When Dead in 2005, his work is a creative response to his industrial surroundings. Inspired by his children and an urge to progress beyond the everyday mundane, his work blurs the boundaries of surrealism, abstract and pop art and resides in collections across the world.

Self-taught as an artist, Famous When Dead lives and works from the home studio in Staffordshire that he shares with his wife and three young children.
